The La Isabela washed coffee is unique because of where and how it grows. The coffee plants in the volcanic soil of Tres Rios, Costa Rica, soak up rich nutrients, sitting 1,600 meters above sea level. This perfect environment helps the coffee beans fill with deep, rich flavours.  The estate has been in production since 1888, when Teodocio Castro bought the estate to cultivate coffee.  The estate is still managed by the Castro family and it has grown to become one of the best known coffees in Costa Rica.
