Meet Adriana – The Special Blend of Coffee and Creativity Behind Crickle Creek
Share
Hello!
You’re probably used to hearing from my wife, Adriana—but today it’s Guillermo here, stepping in while she’s off enjoying a well-deserved hiking break. I figured this was the perfect chance to share a few things you might not know about the creative powerhouse behind so much of what you see (and sip!) at Crickle Creek.
Let me introduce you properly.
Born in Costa Rica to Salvadoran parents (during El Salvador’s civil unrest), Adriana’s early life was shaped by movement—growing up between Costa Rica and Ecuador, returning to El Salvador in her twenties, and eventually moving to Calgary with me (and our two little ones) in 2014. Her heart holds a little piece of everywhere she’s lived… and her vocabulary does too! She’s mastered the art of “creative language.” If she ever makes up a word mid-sentence, don’t worry—it’s probably a real word in some country. I’ve even caught myself using a few. 😄
Adriana comes from a long line of farmers—her dad, like his dad, worked the land growing soy, rice, macadamia nuts, and coffee. Lots of coffee. Farm visits were a regular part of her childhood, and it’s no surprise she’s happiest outdoors. Summer is her season—hiking, camping, and backyard firepits are her thing.
She’s a graphic designer by trade, turned co-owner/operator/visionary of Crickle Creek. She moves effortlessly between roles—marketing, branding, operations, customer service (alongside Alejandro)—always jumping in with full energy… unless spreadsheets are involved. (Ask her about the time she used a calculator on a spreadsheet instead of formulas—we still laugh about it.)
Adriana’s creativity shines through in every part of Crickle Creek. She has an eye for beauty, a love for thoughtful design, and Energizer Bunny energy—fueled, perhaps, by her four cups of coffee before noon. Her go-to brew method these days? The Clever Dripper. She loves its clean taste, consistency, easy clean-up, and of course, its clever design—it’s very her.
As for coffee? She loves trying new origins to keep things interesting, but her heart always leans toward Costa Rica—maybe it’s childhood nostalgia in a cup.
Her passion for art, colour, and connection shines through in everything we do. Adriana believes in living creatively, embracing adventure, surrounding herself with inspiring people, and making the most of every moment—especially the simple joys, like her coffee moments.
So the next time you sip your Crickle Creek brew, know there’s a spark of Adriana’s heart, joy, and creativity in every cup.
Warmly,
Guillermo
